"This is the Voice of Moderation. I wouldn't go so far as to say we've actually SEIZED the radio station . . . "
by liberal japonicus The discussion has shifted in the comments a bit to what it takes to move the Maga base, so I thought I’d put this up. I’m a fan of the NYT daily, (and Michael Babaro’s vocal fry!) but this one is rather depressing. Entitled Why Trump Voters Are Torn Over Minneapolis, after … Read more

Using facial-recognition technology driven by artificial intelligence, Nikkei identified scenes in which Kim Ju Ae appeared out of 14,115 hours of … Read more
by liberal japonicus I feel like I’m channelling wj’s optimism when I say that this seems like reading Mene mene, Tekel, Upharsin on a nearby wall. by liberal japonicus This article, with the headline Spanish Scientist finds cure for pancreatic cancer, concludes with the following: Such reactions reflect a broader tension in cancer research communication, namely the gap between legitimate scientific caution and public desperation for definitive cures, particularly for diseases with historically grim outcomes. Jeez, I wonder why?
