Given the way the world is, this counts as a feel-good story for me.
Meta’s controversial program that spied on its employees’ computers has backfired spectacularly.
Though its chief technology officer Andrew Bosworth assured that the data it collected would be “tightly controlled,” the company is now pausing the tracking program after sensitive employee information was leaked internally, according to reports from Business Insider and Wired.
Ha ha, ha ha ha.
Will try and post the transcript when it comes up, but if you don’t mind listening, your cup (of schadenfreude) will runneth over

Netanyahu is in the process of learning what countless of others have learned: Trump only cares about himself.
hah hah.
“leaked internally” was the thing that got their attention. One suspects that senior managers’ information getting leaked was a trigger . But how much attention would they have paid to complaints from individual employees reporting that their information got leaked externally?
Sometimes it takes the leopard eating your own face to get a point across. Mere warnings from anyone else being discounted. As you say Shadenfreude.
Eighteen months ago, when I was arguing with (non-Jewish) rightwing friends who supported Israel’s response in Gaza to October 7th, the only argument which cut through with them was my contention that Netanyahu’s actions had done more damage to Israel than anybody else’s in my lifetime. The reverberations, continue, and the ripples get wider and wider, magnified by the extraordinary hubris and ignorance of the Trump administration. I only wish I could feel schadenfreude towards anybody involved – unfortunately even that small amount of pleasure is denied me. The villains will probably escape scot-free (even Bibi will probably only end up in jail, if that), and the people of Gaza, Iran and Lebanon (and in due course Israel) will be left to pay the price.
