I actually just think the idea that this extraordinary leap in human knowledge and our capacity to explore the world of ideas and the natural world around us in our lifetimes could come about and then be hawked at us like the the cheapest like new pair of shoes, but that everybody has to buy these shoes so that Sam Altman can have more money. That I’m not down with.
The earlier discussion of frontier lab pauses and the growing capacity of AI models is also interesting. It took me a while to get used to the Hard Fork hosts, but now, it’s a regular listen.
